I can’t even begin to say how useful this was. I’d like to say I’m brown nosing, but to be hones that was definitely the most comprehensive basics tutorial I’ve ever seen. I definitely will be using jQuery on my final and I’m actually excited about implementing it. Thanks!

Thank you for this tutorial! I was over halfway there by using the URL for the images, but I didn’t know where to go from there. Now I do! Sometimes, things seem extraordinarily complicated until you get a different perspective.

This tutorial is pretty cool. I didn’t realize that we had the capability to alter the templates by changing the CSS files or images.

Looking around it’s interesting to see how many sites are “powered by WP”and how people are using it as a CMS. I had investigated it as a blog but your tutorials and your WP site made me realize that it’s more of publishing platform. Thanks for the tutorial!

Correct Jay. It reduces load time by not sending a full page request. It doesn’t make your php or SQL query run any faster, you just see a speed improvement because you don’t have to wait for the browser to send the entire page request and get a response.

So basically there’s a secondary staging page that pulls the data from the server and then feeds it into the main page. Would this be considered a proxy of sorts? Does this arrangement directly relate to load time reduction, or is it more about how you request the data (not sending the entire page) that is responsible for that aspect of it.
